Make 20 minutes of cardio fast and fun:
Try out this circuit for your cardio after leg day. This will help stretch your legs out by getting your muscles warmed up and movin’
This is my all time favorite cardio circuit. It gets you moving and burning calories without a boring 25 min run on the treadmill. I get so bored with just jogging for a set amount of miles or time, that makes me dread cardio days or workouts. This circuit helps burn fat and strengthen your heart while keeping things interesting on cardio day! I like to use a treadmill to control my speed but this can absolutely be done on a track or paved path.
Here is how each set is broken down:
In parenthesis are the speeds I usually do on the treadmill, make sure to adjust to your fitness level. This should be some what challenging so set the speeds accordingly! Each set takes a total of 5 minutes:
2 minute walk (3.5)
2 minute run (6.5)
1 minute sprint (8)
Repeat this cycle for a total of 20 minutes or 4 sets! This is a great way to warm up or end a workout, I will usually do this at the beginning of my cardio days and add on a few kettle bell swings, 10 minutes of rowing then finish off with a ab workout.
